Refund Policy
Last updated: May 31, 2026. This Refund Policy explains when UpRender fees are charged, when subscriptions become non-refundable, how cancellation works, and what happens to renewals, unused quota, add-ons, overages, billing errors, and enterprise purchases.
1. Plain-English Summary
UpRender does not provide refunds once a subscription feature has been used. You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation prevents renewal from the next billing cycle, but it does not refund fees already paid for the current billing cycle or any prior billing cycle.
- Paid subscription fees are generally earned when charged and become non-refundable once paid features are activated, accessed, configured, or used.
- Canceling a subscription stops future renewal; it does not reverse the current charge or create a prorated refund.
- You remain able to use the paid plan until the end of the current paid billing period unless the account is suspended or terminated for breach, risk, abuse, or nonpayment.
- Unused rendered URLs, AI audits, bot analytics, cache capacity, support allocation, add-ons, credits, and plan limits do not roll over and are not refundable unless your order form says otherwise.
- Mandatory non-waivable legal rights, verified duplicate charges, verified payment processor errors, or a signed enterprise agreement may override this policy only to the minimum extent required.
2. Scope of this Refund Policy
This policy applies to all UpRender plans, subscriptions, renewals, upgrades, downgrades, add-ons, usage-based charges, overage charges, AI Visibility features, bot rendering features, Google integration features, sitemap and llms.txt tooling, support packages, onboarding fees, and enterprise services purchased through uprender.io, the UpRender dashboard, an authorized checkout flow, invoice, or order form.
Because these features may be delivered, consumed, cached, generated, or reserved shortly after purchase, our paid subscriptions are not sold on a try-and-return basis.
3. No-Refund Rule After Subscription Feature Use
Except where required by applicable law or expressly stated in a signed enterprise agreement, UpRender does not issue refunds, credits, reversals, charge reductions, or prorated reimbursements after a paid subscription feature has been activated, accessed, configured, or used.
Once subscription feature use occurs, the subscription charge for the applicable billing period is final and non-refundable, even if you later decide that you do not want the service, do not complete your proxy setup, stop using the product, downgrade, delete your domain, disconnect Google, remove middleware, do not use your full monthly quota, do not receive expected SEO results, or cancel before the billing period ends.
3.1 Examples of non-refundable charges
- Monthly or annual subscription fees for Starter, Pro, Enterprise, or any future paid plan.
- Plan renewals that occur before cancellation is completed.
- Upgrade charges, add-on charges, render-capacity charges, AI-analysis credits, API usage, bot-analytics capacity, or overage fees.
- Onboarding, implementation, migration, domain setup, custom routing, private hosting, security review, training, consulting, or professional-service fees.
- Fees for subscription periods where no ranking, indexing, AI citation, click, impression, conversion, or traffic result was achieved.
- Charges caused by customer configuration choices, customer-side errors, proxy or CDN misconfiguration, DNS issues, third-party crawler behavior, or customer failure to cancel before renewal.
4. What Counts as 'Subscription Feature Use'
A subscription feature is considered used when you, your team, your systems, your domain, your integration, your API key, or any automated process associated with your account accesses, activates, configures, consumes, or benefits from a paid UpRender capability.
| Category | Examples of Feature Use |
|---|---|
| Domain and setup | Adding, verifying, activating, or configuring a domain; enabling a project; setting up route rules; creating API keys. |
| Proxy and routing | Configuring middleware, Nginx, CDN, edge functions, DNS, load balancer, headers, proxy rules, bot allowlists, or bot blocklists. |
| Rendering | Requesting, generating, caching, refreshing, purging, serving, or previewing rendered HTML snapshots or metadata-rich pages. |
| AI Visibility | Running AI audits, viewing AEO scores, generating metadata, generating schema, extracting entities, or receiving recommendations. |
| Google integrations | Connecting Google Search Console, Google Analytics, URL inspection data, sitemap submission, or related permissions. |
| Sitemaps and llms.txt | Generating, editing, downloading, publishing, syncing, updating, or using sitemaps or llms.txt content. |
| Analytics and logs | Viewing bot traffic analytics, live request feeds, render history, activity logs, cache hit data, or usage reports. |
| Support and onboarding | Receiving implementation guidance, developer support, configuration review, priority support, or enterprise setup. |
5. Current Billing Cycle Access
When you cancel a paid subscription, your plan normally remains active until the end of the current paid billing period. After the billing period ends, the subscription will not renew and paid features may be disabled, limited, downgraded, or removed.
Access through the end of the billing period is not a refund, credit, or extension. It is continued access to the period already purchased.
6. Cancellation
You may cancel a subscription at any time through the UpRender dashboard, billing portal, payment processor portal, or any other cancellation method we make available.
6.1 Effect of cancellation
- Cancellation stops automatic renewal from the next billing cycle.
- Cancellation does not refund the current billing cycle.
- Cancellation does not refund prior billing cycles.
- Cancellation does not remove your responsibility for unpaid invoices, usage fees, taxes, overages, chargebacks, or fees incurred before cancellation.
- Cancellation does not automatically remove UpRender proxy, DNS, CDN, middleware, or server configuration from your own infrastructure.
6.2 Timing
To avoid renewal, cancellation must be completed before the renewal charge is processed. If a renewal charge is processed before cancellation is completed, that renewal charge is non-refundable once subscription features for the renewal period are available, activated, or used.
7. Renewals
Paid subscriptions may renew automatically on a monthly, annual, or other recurring schedule shown at checkout. By purchasing a recurring subscription, you authorize UpRender or its payment processor to charge the payment method on file for recurring fees, applicable taxes, and any authorized usage charges until the subscription is canceled or terminated.
Failure to receive, open, or act on a renewal reminder does not create a refund right if renewal terms were disclosed and you did not cancel before renewal.
8. Unused Quota, Credits, and Partial Periods
Unless an order form expressly states otherwise, unused amounts do not roll over, convert to cash, create account credit, reduce future invoices, or qualify for refund. We do not provide prorated refunds or credits for partial use, partial months, partial years, unused URLs, unused AI audits, unused support, or cancelled accounts.
9. Overages, Add-ons, and Usage-Based Charges
Overage and add-on charges are non-refundable once incurred, whether or not you later use the resulting output or business benefit. If you believe a charge is incorrect, notify [email protected] promptly with account, invoice, domain, and usage details.
10. Downgrades and Plan Changes
Unless the dashboard states otherwise, downgrades take effect at the start of the next billing cycle. Downgrading does not refund the difference between the current paid plan and the downgraded plan for the current billing period. Upgrade charges are non-refundable once paid features from the upgraded plan are activated, accessed, configured, or used.
11. Free Plans, Free Trials, and Promotions
- Free plans do not require a refund because no subscription fee is charged.
- If a free trial converts into a paid subscription, you must cancel before the conversion date to avoid being charged.
- Promotional discounts apply only for the stated period and do not create a refund right after a paid term begins.
- Coupons, credits, beta access, goodwill credits, and promotional balances have no cash value and are not refundable.
- Abuse of free plans, trials, coupons, or promotions may result in suspension, termination, and denial of future promotional eligibility.
12. Enterprise Purchases
Unless the signed enterprise agreement expressly states otherwise, enterprise fees are non-cancellable and non-refundable once the order form is signed, invoice is issued, provisioning begins, capacity is reserved, onboarding starts, custom work begins, access is granted, or any enterprise feature is activated. Prepaid annual or multi-year fees are not refundable for early termination, reduced usage, unused capacity, or change in business priorities.
13. Limited Exceptions
UpRender may approve a refund, credit, or correction only in the limited cases below. Approval is not guaranteed.
If non-waivable law requires a refund, withdrawal right, cooling-off right, or charge correction, that law controls only to the minimum required extent.
If the same account was charged twice due to a verified billing-system error, we may reverse or credit the duplicate amount.
If a payment processor confirms a technical payment error, we may issue a correction through the original payment method.
If a signed enterprise contract expressly grants a refund, credit, or service credit, that written term controls.
We do not treat dissatisfaction, lack of expected SEO results, lack of AI citations, search engine delays, crawler behavior, customer-side implementation issues, failure to cancel, unused quota, or change of mind as refund exceptions.
14. Refund and Billing-Error Requests
To request review of a potential billing error, contact [email protected]. Include your account email, organization name, invoice number, charge date, last four digits of the payment method if available, domain names involved, and a clear description of the issue.
Refund or billing-error requests must be submitted within thirty (30) days after the disputed charge unless applicable law requires a longer period.
15. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes
You agree to contact UpRender billing before initiating a chargeback or payment dispute so we can review the issue. A chargeback, failed payment, payment reversal, or unresolved payment dispute may result in account suspension, disabled rendering, disabled integrations, cache purge, API revocation, downgraded plan access, collection activity, or termination.
